The problem of the DeWine veto

I recently wrote about how Daniel Horowitz discusses Florida on his podcasts, "There’s a reason Republicans are obsessed with owning the libs in meaningless skirmishes in blue states while ignoring what they can actually accomplish in red states: they elevate symbolism over substance, outcomes, and results." He goes onto say: that Florida is the one state actually holding vaccine makers accountable, as well as accomplishing other things. By the way, to keep Florida the great way it is long term, his Florida chapter is here: https://floridacan.org/ I encourage everyone to sign up. I think it is certainly possible to make the southeast more like Florida, with West Virginia, perhaps Ohio, Indiana, Idaho, and Oklahoma being the scattered areas in which we can fortify those states The southeast is also a personal interest, being that I am glad my family and I moved out of Virginia in 2022 for many reasons.

Sadly, as many know, many red states have RINO Governors, RINO legislatures and RINO local "leaders" in the counties, cities and townships. They all need to be primaried. However, the first step to solving a problem is recognizing the problem. Most of your GOP governors grovel for the woke companies to come to their states, and many local RINOs raise the property and other taxes because they don't know how to balance the budget like Florida. They put the burden of the inflation on you, rather than being responsible. Likewise, in Virginia, many local RINOs appoint woke tyrants, for example, that have already done the same thing that sadly now goes on at the federal level. This is also different than electing a moderate in a state where that is the best taht can be realistically done. A RINO and a moderate are not the same things.

Going back to DeWine, it is important to simultaneously recognize the opportunity. In 2026, the establishment governors of Ohio (DeWine), South Carolina (McMaster) and Tennessee (Lee) are term limited, as are others. In 2026, the Republican primary election starts by getting involved with the campaigns early on, so that the right Republicans can be nominee to go up in the general election. When Jon Husted runs in 2026, support someone else in the primary. In Tennessee, our goal is not to have RINO Randy McNally, RINO Cameron Sexton, or RINO Jack Johnson. I could go on and on. This is why opposition research is very important as well as knowing the facts. We know Jon Husted was complicit in the DeWine shutdowns, so we need to make sure that these red states have actual conservative governors.

When the RINO's act a certain way, they make it so that young conservatives like me, as well as those of all ages currently feel that Florida currently the place that does it right. Sure, good things happen in red states and they are objectively better than blue states. However Daniel is right, we as a conservative grassroots movement need to fortify the red states and make as many of them like Florida as possible.
